Allanah Starr's Birthday Blowout

July 9th, 2003

Previous to this party, I had 2 other events @ other clubs on a smaller scale. They had been experiments in finding out how big of a market & need there was for this type of event. My birthday is actually July 8, but I thought it would be fun to do a big b-day party and incorporate adult entertainment stars into the event. The first three parties (including this one) had been in conjunction with another tranny promoter who had introduced me to the party business. This was the first time we did the party @ Club Shelter and it happened so by accident. The other location where the party was scheduled had last minute problems and could not host the party. I was furious because we had similar problems with the last party at the very last minute as well. This was all after the fact that ads had been printed and promotions had been done. Luckily, the evening turned out to be a success with over 300 guests in attendance. And though the events were still not fine tuned, nor was there any decor, theme, clear organization, and so forth, this was the first time we started doing photo shoots, porn star appearances, and photo shoots; now traditions @ the events. This was also the only party that my friend, the late Susan Shah, made her only appearance as a special guest. Susan committed suicide in October of 2004 while suffering from depression. She was very generous this evening to grace us with her presence and donate videos for the giveaways.

Shemale Carnival

Oct 17th, 2003

By the time I decided to entertain another event I had decided to do it on my own. Everyone has been asking when the next party was and I was not really sure because I had so many bad experiences with the organization of the past events. I figured I could do it even better and on a much bigger scale, so I contacted Club Shelter and sought to do the event on my own. At this point I knew I could do a party and people would show up, it was just a matter of making it exciting and well organized. But, doing just a regular party was not really interesting to me. I wanted to make it a special event that would attract a high end customer and make it something I would enjoy doing. It then became my goal create something that people had never seen before at a tranny party. I had loved the old theme parties in Miami & the old Suzanne Bartsch parties that I attended it as club kid and sought out to create that same atmosphere that I had not seen in a club for a very long time. The carnival theme was actually inspired by a party I had done a long time in Miami called "Boylesque" (many moons ago I used to do weekly parties in Miami as well as work as entertainment director for the same club). I contacted ShemaleYum & GiaDarling and they agreed to sponsor this event as well. We were lucky enough to get a Friday (which is very difficult in the night club business in NYC) and preparations began. It was quite a challenge for me to prepare for this party as I had recently had undergone a jaw reconstruction surgery in which I had a difficult recovery and had suffered from post surgery depression. Doing the shoot for the flyer proved very difficult because my face was extremely swollen and it all had to be done at certain angles and was just very depressing to look disfigured on camera. Even when I look at the party pictures from that night my face looks so odd an uneven to me due to the swelling. Still, I never expected we would get about 500 guest that night; it was mind blowing. We only had one floor available and it was packed all night. This was the first time Gia Darling & Joanna Jet had made a personal appearance in New York and it was wildly popular. To this day I think we had some of the best shows ever that night. Some girls opened with Lady Marmalade from Moulin Rouge, Amanda Lepore did her Burlesque balloon act, Raven from Atlanta ate fire, and Cashetta did a magic show, it was fabulous! From then on, I decided every party had to have a theme and entertainment to go with the theme.

Shemale Wild West

May 20th, 2004

As you see there is a huge time lapse  between the last event and this one; nearly 8 months. If you were to ask me why, I really do not have a clear answer. Perhaps I had not taken the party business serious or I had a hectic schedule, but it was really my friend Bianca who talked me into having another event. People always ask me, how I come up with the themes, and I guess I just think of something that would be fun to dress up to and not so difficult to find props and decor for. That's actually my favorite part of this whole process. The decoration, the costumes, and having it all come together. The Wild West was great because it looked really like and old saloon that night. Shelter @ this point had only Thursday available and I thought this would be good enough since I like it there and I liked doing the parties there. This party was great as well and it was packed from opening to end. The Shemale Wild West inspired to do these events on a regular basis. I thought because the party took about a month to plan and because of my work load, doing a bi monthly affair was what I could handle, and so I made a deal with Club Shelter to do so.

Shemale Space Odyssey 3000

July 29th, 2004

I had kept my promise to do the party two months later and kept it on a Thursday since it was the only spot available. I was inspired by the film Barbarella for the Space Odyssey and did a parody for the flyer based on the actual movie poster. As you can tell by now, I love campy things and I love humorous sheik. What I found most difficult about this event was finding decor. There were not nearly enough things @ the prop shop as we imagined so that proved a challenge. I also had big problems with my outfit and wig that night. It was a nightmare. The wig looked nothing like I designed when it arrived and the outfit did not fit me and I did not get it until 10 PM that night. I was a nervous wreck from 7 PM to 10 PM that night.  I was afraid it was not going to get there and I would have nothing to wear for the night. I guess most people would not have minded if I had appeared naked, but that is another story. When the outfit did come, it was extremely uncomfortable to wear because it was way too small. My costume for this night was probably one of my least favorites ever; I actually threw it away when the night was over. But, you made due and I carried it the best I could. However, I wore white contacts that night which was a lot of fun and I think distracted from the rest of the look. A lot of people that I have known forever, did not even recognize me wearing them. I really don't know how since the tits and ass were the same. Still, it was fun to look like a freaky alien. The funniest thing I heard from that night was this guy I ran into later that week who had come to my party and he said "Oh, u look so much better today". LOL. And I thought if he imagined that I wore a black and white wig and wore white contacts on a daily basis.

One Night in Bankok

Sept 24th, 2004

Right after the Space Odyssey the club offered me that Friday night party I had so desperately wanted. I knew it was difficult for a lot of people to come on Thursday because of work on Friday so this was a true blessing. The deal was that I could get a Friday spot but I would have to commit to doing the parties once a month. I thought about it for a day after I consulted with friends and everyone thought I was a great idea so I agreed.  The Bangkok party was really fantastic. The club had agreed to give us three floors and the decorations were simply my favorite so far; it just looked so beautiful. I knew at the end of the night that this was probably the largest ts party NYC had ever had, arguably probably in the world. This was when I realized that this party had become a huge thing and that it was something that people really looked forward to. We had taken the ts parties out of the dingy and sleazy bars it was accustomed to, and had brought it to a completely different level with the best entertainment, dancers, and stars. This was also the party were I started to dabble in wearing only body paint to the events, which is something I do all the time now.

Vampire Shemales from Sodom

Oct 29th, 2004

When I agreed to do monthly Friday night parties, I had booked the last four Fridays of the year in advance. I was thrilled to do this party for Halloween and knew it would be a huge affair. I was leaving to Europe for most of October, so I had actually began most of the preparations, promotions, photo shoots rather early and it was all pretty much set before I left. Well, just when you think you have it all worked out, shit happens. By chance, while in Paris someone send me an email explaining that he did not know there were two parties @ Club Shelter that night. He sent the flyer, and it was an advertisement for a fetish party that boasted four floors, etc, and on exactly same night of my party. I figured it had to be a mistake but called my assistant right away to check with the club just in case. Mistake, it was not. Somehow there was some miscommunication and the club had accidentally booked me for Oct. 15 instead of the 29. It was impossible, I thought! I was in Paris and I knew what I had booked and there was no way this could be happening, but it was. By now I am in total panic as the club is double booked, we had advertised three floors, etc. I am then assured by the club owner everything would be worked out and fine. So I figured it would be. Mistake, it was not. I get back from Paris four days before the party to find that the other promoters do not want to give up any floors, nothing had been done, nothing had been negotiated,  & we were just getting fuckeall around.  I almost had a breakdown that week because I really did not know what was going to happen day to day and the details kept on changing every day. The other party was extremely uncooperative, the club was not really doing much for me either, and no one wanted to budge.  So, I finally got stuck in the basement, negotiated for partial use of the second floor, and hoped for the best. The truth was that I was really devastated and upset. I really value the people that come to this party and I try very hard to give them a great time and I felt this situation was just unacceptable on all ends. I decided to offer all of the guest a coupon for $15 off of the next party hoping to give people some compensation. Still, the show must go on and we made due. The club did look rather fabulous in the basement for Halloween and the party got packed. Considering all the mishaps, it was a very successful event and our busiest to date. I think costume wise, the look I had this evening is my favorite thus far; a look I can only describe as a vampire nympho from outer space. This party almost severed the relationship I had with Club Shelter but they apologized and really came through for me @ the end. I'm glad we were able to work it all out because I really do like the Club Shelter and the management and feel they gave me my first break.

Transsexual Tropicana

Nov 26th, 2004

Why a tropical party in winter? Cause I felt like it ;).  This was another scary party for me because I thought no one would come. The day after Thanksgiving is a tough day to get people to come out, I thought. I was wrong. I guess if you build it, THEY WILL COME! We had an amazing turn out for this event. Far better than I expected. Sonia, my assistant out did her self in finding the cutest decorations for this party. We had sand, palm trees, flowers, parrots, and everyone got "leied" as they walked in the door by one of the hostesses. It was tikki lounge meets Las Vegas, with a twist. A great party over all.

Shemale Winter Wonderland

Dec 17th, 2004

Another hard sale I thought because this party was only 20 days after Tropicana. It was impossible to do it any later in December because the last two Fridays are two Fridays that are very bad for this type of party- XMas Eve & New Year's Eve. I decided to go with a mid month party instead and hoped for the best. Visually, the party did look like a Winter Wonderland. There was fake snow all over the place, a sled, holiday decor-it really looked fantastic. All of the dancers also came through with really cute outfits and everything just came together beautifully. I also had a major hair disaster once again. I ordered a bright red wig to be styled like "Jessica Rabbit" with rhinestones set on the part. I was really excited because since my make up artist and I had decided to paint a leopard print corset on me, t this hair would look very pin up; girl which was the look I was going for. Unfortunately, when the hairdresser showed up at my apartment the wig she pulled out looked like a cross between Gem and The Holograms & Anne Margaret. Boy, was I upset. Almost in tears. There was nothing I could because that is the only hair I had prepared to wear. I think this put me in a really bad mood for the rest of the night. I do not think I showed it because I can cover that very well, but I just felt really bad internally because it was so not what I wanted and I am so picky about my apperance.  However, the body paint Robert painted on me was SPECTACULAR. It looked like I was wearing a body corset in leopard fabric.  I spent 6 hours getting ready that night and it was totally worth it. Besides the hair malfunction, everything went very well and it was a great night. Even a certain female rapper who "Works It" stopped by that night with America's new "Top Model" and the two made an appearance for 20 minutes or so with friends in the upstairs lounge. And that was as they say, the "icing on the cake".

Trannylicious

Starting every thursday Dec 30th, 2004

After much bought of whether I should do a weekly party or not, I finally decided to do one. People constantly asked when I was going to do a weekly party and I really thought I'd never. It was a question of time, rather not having any to devote to this. But after I realized that there are NO weekly TS parties left in one of the greatest and largest cities in the world, I was very distraught. You might recall that I attempted to do a weekly party about a year ago but due to the hideous, unscrupulous, & slandering activities of a competing ts promoter the party was canceled. That had left a very bad taste in my mouth and had soured me to that weekly party biz a lot. But, always a fighter, I think that we in the community deserve a quality place to party at that is available on a weekly basis. There was the question whether one monthly event and weekly parties would be too much. I think that if I tried to mold the weekly after the monthly events, then yes. But these are going to be two completely different venues, atmospheres, and vibe. So, I decided it to give it a go. I am very excited about doing this party at Opaline because it is a great, upscale location and I think it will attract great people.  I hope that I can gather the support to make this party work because we are desperately in need of a place to have fun!  So if you are in town stop by and support us! If you are not, then wish me luck!! I  promise I will give you an update very soon on the goings on @ Trannylicious.

***Trannylicious Opening Update!***

WOW!  I could not have asked for a better opening night! Opaline was packed with 400 people! Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined we would have such a great turn out for our first weekly party. Thanks to those who came and showed their support. Hopefully we can make this event stronger and bigger every week! It was both busy with guys and ladies and the crowd was having a geat time.  So many cuties and so many new faces! The dancers did a fantastic job (those girls are always so hot) and we celebrated Stephanie's birthday with a bang.  I had way too many martinis and by the end of the night had misplaced my dress and was only wearing my white fox stole wrap. Woops! I guess I was having a really good time by then. Thanks again to all the ladies, staff, dancers, Club Opaline, and most of all the fans who made this night so succesfull. We are here to stay on Thursday nights and hope you will join us!

Queens of the Nile

January 29, 2005

Indeed, my favorite decorative party to date! This was a pretty special one that invested quite a bit of time and effort into it because it was being covered by Playboy TV. Actually, it was more of a story on yours truly that included Danielle Foxxx, Gia Darling, and Joanna Jet. I had arranged it with Playboy TV about four months prior so I wanted this party to be xtra special and it was! Playboy does one transsexual story a year and they chose my story about the parties for 2005. The club looked like a surreal Egyptian desert that night. Filled with glittered palm trees, a life size plastic camel, sand, a sarcophagus, and a shrine on stage, it was very Warhol does Egypt. I also looked very wild that night. My inspiration was an actual sarcophagus and I was painted in gold from head to toe, with "traditional" Egyptian like the make up usually seen on Egyptian statues and artwork. The headdress I wore was a wig inspired by Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra and Grace Jones in Vamp. I know that is an interesting combination, but you know me; I have a taste for the bizzare! All the girls looked wonderful in gold and my favorite part of the evening was the opening. Amanda Lepore performed her two new singles with Caswell that night. The sarcophagus we had rented was on stage and before the opening I had secretly been hidden inside of it. So after Amanda finished her two numbers, she and Caswell introduced me and opened the door to the sarcophagus and out I came looking just like an Egyptian statue. I had a great time doing that and I think the audience got a kick out of it. The rest of the night went smoothly with Playboy TV being very respectful of our guest and focusing mainly on the girls except for those few interviews with the guys I had lined up in preproduction. This party also had the hottest shoots we have had EVER, especially the one of Kiara and Raquel Chambers. Nothing like seeing two trannies making out on a pile of sand with a camel in the background!!! I bet the Egyptians never had it like that! While this was my first attempt at switching the events to Saturday night, I decided that in April we would return back to our Fridays. I just think that works best for everyone. Overall, a fantastic party with lots of fun. Beautiful girls, plus all the top names in XXX porn were there, and coverage from Playboy TV- what more could I have asked for?

A Shemale Love Ball

 Feb. 19, 2005

Sadly, I was unable to attend this party. At the last minute, I had the opportunity to do a show called "Cosmetic Surgery Live" in the UK and had to fly over seas to shoot it two days before the event. I must say it felt very, very strange missing an event for the first time. After all the careful planning and details, and after writing the entire script for the night- I felt really empty the night of the event. Still, I was kept well informed through the night (as you know London is 5 hours ahead) so I did not get much sleep that night! But, after seeing all the pictures , how lovely the girls and the decor looked, and from all the emails I revived from gentleman who had attended, I knew the evening had been a success. Sonia, my assistant, did a beautiful job at hosting, as did the other entertainers Genie and Candice Cayne who worked the crowds very well. Rave reviews also came from the VIP area, for those guest who wanted a more exclusive, chilled out atmosphere. My special thanks to all the ladies, all of my sponsors, friends, performers, and fans who attended this evening and helped me realize this event in my absence. I hope everyone had a great tranny Valentine's evening with us! AND in case you are wondering, I do not plan to miss any future events.
ither!
